For Thaveechai “Dev” Sirikulthada, textiles are less a finished proposition than an invitation to experiment. As a director and executive at Gold House Décor, parent company of Homework Fabrics, he has built his career around what materials might become through innovation, sustainability and creative collaboration.

That thinking has helped shape Homework Fabrics into more than a supplier. By creating opportunities for designers and students to explore materials and develop a deeper understanding of textiles, Dev is fostering the kind of experimentation from which new applications emerge. His own interests range from sustainable fibres such as hemp to technical solutions including V-Shield technology, reflecting a desire to expand the possibilities of fabric while contributing to Thailand’s wider textile ecosystem.

There is a parallel creative strand to his work. Photography offers another way of studying material, atmosphere and detail, with Dev using his Instagram platform to capture carefully observed moments and compositions. His images have also been selected by LFI Gallery, the official Leica Fotografie International platform.

The connection between the two disciplines is revealing. Whether considering the potential of a textile or framing a photograph, Dev begins by looking closely. That combination of observation, curiosity and experimentation allows him to move comfortably between business and creativity – always searching for what might be seen, made or understood differently.
