Legendary Canadian pop punks Sum 41 are booked to take the stage in Bangkok at Rock Frenzy 2023 on March 31 at JJ Mall. Organized by Be Hear Now, the festival is one headbangers won’t want to miss, with a full lineup of rock artists bringing some heat to the Bangkok summer.
Formed in 1996 in Ajax, Ontario, as a NOFX cover band, Sum 41 was originally called Kaspir. Their current name came about on tour, on what happened to be the 41st day of summer. After signing their international record deal with Island Records in 1999, the band released their debut album, All Killer No Filler in 2001. “Fat Lip”, their first single, achieved mainstream success and reached number one on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and remains the band’s most successful single to date. With a total of seven studio albums under their belt, the band has been described as pop punk, skate punk, and alternative rock.
Last year, the band announced their eighth studio album, Heaven and Hell. Heaven will return to the pop punk sound of the band’s early career while Hell is a continuation of the band’s more recent heavier metal sound.
Entire lineup to be announced soon on Be Hear Now.
