Six leading Thai fashion designers have shown how versatile Thai handspun textiles can be with their fashion show “Sense of Thai”. Presenting mini capsule collections were top Thai brands Theatre, Asava, Issue, Hook’s by Prapakas, Wisharawish, and TandT.
Each look was designed using guidelines from the recently-launched Thai Textiles Trend Book Autumn/Winter 2022-2023, with fabrics supplied by the SUPPORT Foundation, which encourages and elevates traditional textile production. The results were a stunning range of styles that crossed generations and genders, from young and playful looks to elegant and glamorous.
The collections were accessorized with jewelry from six leading Thai jewelers: Gems Pavilion, Gem Peace by Chuchai, Jasmin, Karat, Rajdamri Gems and Sincere Jewelry.
The fashion show was organized jointly by The Emporium and The EmQuartier, together with the SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Department of Cultural Promotion, the Government Savings Bank, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Muang Thai Life Assurance. The occasion was held to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother on her 90th birthday. Presiding at the show at The EmQuartier was HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
The fashion show was part of the “Sense of Thai” fair, continuing at The EmQuartier through August 14. The fair features a Thai Craft Fair zone which offers Thai silk and brocade, and handicrafts ranging from basketwork, Liphao vine handbags, woodwork and a variety of ceramics from The SUPPORT Foundation.
