To the delight of homemakers, Iranian-French architect and designer India Mahdavi will be launching her collaboration collection with H&M Home on April 28, 2022. Known for her whimsical spaces and playful palettes, Mahdavi has worked on several large hospitality projects and luxury collabs all over the world, and she also has her own furniture line. Her collection with H&M Home will, of course, highlight color as well as a curated range of textiles and ceramics.
Since the launch of her studio over 20 years back, Mahdavi has built a name for herself and is known as the ‘queen of color’ within the world of design and architecture. With international acclaim, her artistic and creative identity is unconventional and multicultural. She has created some of the world’s most photogenic interiors in cities like London, Miami, Paris, Tokyo, and New York.
“With this collection, H&M Home has offered me the opportunity to spread a joyful palette of colors on an international scale”, says Mahdavi. A variety of captivating ceramics are the key pieces in this exclusive collection. In addition, the plates, serving bowls, vases, as well as the cushions, blanket, and a large rug are all made from natural materials and developed from a craftsmanship perspective, putting the artisanal know-how in focus. The designer additionally shares that the collection was inspired by the blinding colors you see when you close your eyes in front of the blazing sun—resulting in gradient color plays, bright hues, and out-of-focus graphics.
Mahdavi’s design philosophy orbits around a certain joie de vivre, showing how the colors, materials, and shapes in your everyday living space have a way of influencing your mood.
The India Mahdavi x H&M Home collection will be available in stores from April 28, 2022. For more information, visit hm.com.
