John Chantarasak is the chef-patron and director of Anglo
Thai, a London based culinary project that he runs with his
wife Desiree. Drawing influence from his half-Thai half-British
heritage, Anglo Thai marries traditional Thai recipes with seasonal
British ingredients, complemented with a low-intervention wine
programme. The experienced chef, who used to work in roles
related to business economics and play music in a London
based rock band, has spent time training in kitchens across the
world, including Nahm under the care of mentor and friend David
Thompson. Seeking to further the education of Thai cuisine and
culture in the UK, John has had several pop-up residencies across
well-known restaurants in London. John and Desiree are charity
ambassadors representing For Life Thailand that supports children
with disabilities in Thailand.
