Co-founder, Chum Chum Apothecary

Chayanit “Pat” Chansangavej, Laddhaphol “Phol” Chansangavej and Sarita “June” Watthanachan bring their family’s long history in traditional medicine into a contemporary food and beverage business. Growing up in the family behind Vejpong Osot, a 120-year-old Chinese medicine business, they were surrounded by herbs, medicinal ingredients and traditional remedies from an early age.
Yet June’s professional life initially took a different direction, with 20 years in the technology industry before she returned to that heritage with fresh eyes. Together with Pat and Phol, June co-founded Chum Chum Apothecary Brew & Tea Bar, translating Thai and Chinese herbal traditions into a contemporary beverage brand.
Its drinks draw on traditional ingredients known for their nutritional and functional benefits, recast in flavours designed to resonate with younger consumers. An apothecary-inspired identity gives time-honoured recipes a modern context while helping preserve knowledge passed down through generations.
Central to the founders’ approach is the idea of everyday luxury: premium herbal drinks at accessible prices, enjoyed as a lifestyle choice rather than simply an occasional remedy. With Chum Chum now present in multiple Bangkok shopping centres, they are helping challenge the notion that herbal drinks belong to an older generation. Their work shows how inherited knowledge can find new relevance while opening possibilities for Thailand’s wider herbal industry.
