Pataradanai "Koendanai" Setsuwan (they/them) has emerged as a trailblazer in Thai LGBTQ+ activism, carving a path from their role as a prominent member of the band K-OTIC to a luminary in queer advocacy. As a UK-accredited psychotherapist, Koen employs their social media platform, aptly named "Koendanai," as a powerful platform for LGBTQ+ activism. This digital sanctuary serves as a space for inclusive conversations about gender diversity and sexual orientation, normalising non-binary pronouns within Thailand's evolving cultural landscape. Koen's engaging and educational content contributes to dismantling stereotypes while portraying LGBTQ+ lifestyles as universally relatable. Beyond fostering visibility, Koen is a staunch advocate against bullying, championing the right to self-expression. As a trainee psychotherapist working towards a doctorate qualification, they brought in a unique blend of academic expertise and personal experience to offer specialised mental health support to the LGBTQ+ community. More recently, Koen has been setting up “Jutpakjai” (a place for the heart to rest) project where they met with others in random locations in Thailand or abroad, offering a listening ear in a safe space so people can come and heal and explore in full confidentiality without judgement.
