Co-founders, SOURI
Industry : Business
SOURI takes its name from sourire, the French word for ‘smile’, but the brand created by siblings Kasanan “Ice”, Mintra “Ming” and Metawin “Win” Opas-iamkajorn has developed a distinctly Thai personality. Their starting point was the macaron, reworked for younger consumers through less-sweet recipes, creative fillings, contemporary packaging and an immediately recognisable identity.
That combination has helped SOURI grow into one of Thailand’s best-known dessert brands. Signature flavours sit alongside seasonal collections and collaborations, while cafés, pop-ups and retail locations have steadily expanded its physical presence. Throughout, the siblings have kept their attention on product quality, presentation and customer experience.
Expansion has also created an opportunity to look beyond the familiar macaron repertoire. Location-specific flavours draw on local ingredients and regional desserts, translating Thai tastes into a contemporary Western pastry. Branches can consequently reflect something of their host city while giving regional ingredients, food traditions and producers a wider audience.
For Ice, Ming and Win, that local dimension gives SOURI room to become more than a fashionable dessert label. Their long-term ambition is a brand recognised for an identity of its own – one capable of pairing an unmistakably modern visual language with the breadth and character of Thailand’s culinary culture.
