Learn Fest is live 7-11 August at the new TCDC Phuket! Check out the full lineup of creative events and workshops at the historic Chartered Bank House. 

TCDC Phuket is throwing a creative housewarming party, and you’re invited! Teaming up with the Creative Economy Agency, they’re marking the occasion with Learn Fest, running from today, 7 August, through 11 August at the newly renovated, century-old Sino-Portuguese Chartered Bank House on Damrong Road, Talat Yai.

Four exhibits kick things off: From Chartered House to TCDC Phuket covers the building’s jump from an old-school mining bank to a creative hub; Jap Hoi spoofs a vintage shop to market local island products; Show Roi matches top chefs with local cooks for fresh takes on sacred community recipes; and the Phuket Artist Showcase highlights local talent with art built from reclaimed ocean trash.

You can also dive into hands-on workshops and live events, whether that means finding your flow at De-Stress Yoga or hanging out with the Phuket Book Club x Phuket Cacao over homegrown chocolate. Meanwhile, the Write Roi Project x The Cloud gives local storytellers a chance to draft food and lifestyle pieces alongside industry mentors to bring Phuket’s cultural scene to a wider audience.

If you want to get out and explore, look into Creative District Run by Run Club District and Hidden ThepLocation, which take you through city streets alongside local creatives to hunt for unique spots and feed into future neighbourhood plans. And if you’re looking for intellectual stimulation, you can catch talks with industry pros, local creators and young chefs discussing how to push Phuket forward, especially through its creative districts, film scene and legacy as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

The live show brings a bit of everything to the table. After an opening act by Satree Phuket School, Hoon Ga-leh puppetry and Rong Ngen dance take you on a quick history trip from the venue’s Chartered Bank days to TCDC Phuket. Then the party really starts with fusion jazz by Samran Thongtan, a nostalgic mining-era dance night, a set by the senior band Ploi Kae and a performance from up-and-coming Phuket T-pop artist Pami.
