In travel culture, beauty is often the first thing we notice. A skyline at a golden hour, a quiet shoreline, a familiar street seen in a new light. These images feel immediate and complete, but they are only the surface layer of something larger. Underneath that, travel moves through framing, sharing and interpretation online, where destinations are found as much as they are constructed through story.
Within this space, Janpoph “Bright” Suwannapong, known through his platform Loi Story, moves between seeing and interpreting, treating travel as a way to understand how places take on meaning. What begins with images gradually extends into something wider: how destinations are read, how stories of place take form and how travel itself is assembled through the act of sharing.
Bright’s journey begins with photography, long before working in travel was ever a consideration. He was a photographer and graphic designer, mostly working behind the scenes and staying out of the spotlight. A turning point came when he travelled to Europe for the first time. That experience shifted how he saw the world.
“It made me realise how huge the world really is and how many things I had never seen before. Travelling opened my eyes to new cultures, new perspectives and so many experiences that taught me there is still so much to learn in this world.”
During the Covid-19 period, when travel was restricted, he began experimenting with travel storytelling videos on TikTok, using narrative and editing to recreate the feeling of travelling together during a time of isolation. One of his clips unexpectedly went viral; it was the moment he realised he could tell travel stories in his own voice and make people feel part of the journey. From there, he started building a consistent travel storytelling presence and growing a loyal audience.
Earlier, he had also begun sharing his photography on Pantip, which gradually gained attention and encouraged him to keep sharing personal visual stories. At first, travel content was never planned as a career direction. But over time, what began as a personal passion evolved into a way of telling stories through travel.
“For me, the most exciting part is collecting memories and experiences from different places around the world and turning them into stories that people can emotionally connect with. Some people may never have the opportunity to see the world from the same perspective I do, so I want to bring those moments closer to them through photography and video storytelling.”
After nine years of creating travel content, Bright was awarded First Place in the Best View category at the Winner World Creator Festival 2024 in South Korea. The recognition coincided with his mother’s birthday, which made the moment even more meaningful and personal.
“Receiving that award meant a lot to me. Now I’ve been doing this for over 10 years and it reminds me that the content I create truly has value. It gives me motivation and confidence to continue sharing experiences that inspire people to travel, explore the world and see life from different perspectives.”
Travelling across Western destinations gave Bright a broader perspective on how stories and landscapes are perceived. It also strengthened his connection back to Thailand. Seeing places from a distance made him more aware of the richness within his own surroundings, from everyday culture to overlooked local details.
“I believe Thailand still has so much more to offer than many people realise. Especially our natural beauty from crystal-clear seas and lush green mountains to the magical mist during the rainy season. And of course, Thai food is incredibly unique and flavourful in a way that’s hard to find anywhere else in the world.”
This shift gradually appears in his content, where Thailand is no longer shown as a fixed image, but as a living experience shaped by contrast, curiosity and personal interpretation. His storytelling becomes a bridge that invites audiences to see Thailand through the same sense of discovery he once experienced abroad.
“Many local communities in Thailand have left a strong impression on me, especially places where people still live closely connected to nature and preserve their traditional way of life. I love seeing how each region has its own identity, culture, food and atmosphere that make every destination feel different. These details are often what stay with me the most, even after I leave.”
As his content turns more toward Thailand, his intention becomes clearer. As someone who often welcomes international creator friends to Thailand, he hopes people see the country for what it truly is: rich in diversity and depth. For him, sharing is not only about promotion, but about perspective, helping people notice what is already here and encouraging both locals and foreigners to explore it more deeply.
“Thailand has everything: nature, culture, food and warm hospitality, and it’s also easy to travel around. Personally, I think the most special thing about Thailand is Thai people. Our friendliness, kindness and welcoming spirit are what make visitors feel comfortable and connected in a way that is very difficult to replicate elsewhere.”
Alongside his work as a content creator, Bright also co-founded Check In Go Travel Agency focused on making both local and international travel more accessible and experience-driven. This perspective carries through into how he sees the broader travel landscape, especially in Thailand.
“I think travelling in Thailand has become more expensive over the years due to the economy, which may make some people feel that local travel is no longer affordable. But if you look carefully, there are still many destinations that are reasonably priced, beautiful and worth supporting, especially local communities and smaller businesses.”
He also sees a shift in how people travel today. Many are moving away from fast, checklist-style trips and looking for something slower and more intentional. Time by the sea, quiet moments in the mountains, music in calm spaces or simply space away from city life now feel just as valuable as any destination. For him, this is the kind of experience he wants to create for others through Check In Go, offering journeys that feel closer to real places and local life, much like the way he has experienced them himself.
“I still want to continue travelling around the world to experience different cultures and perspectives. I hope those experiences can inspire me to help improve and promote tourism in Thailand even further. I want international travellers to feel the same sense of excitement and wonder when visiting Thailand that I feel whenever I travel abroad.”
