New Energy Arrives on Song Wat Road with Soul Songwat

Soul Songwat brings fresh energy to Song Wat Road, reworking historic riverside warehouses into a community for dining, shopping and slow afternoons in Bangkok.

A new riverside community is taking shape along Song Wat Road, and it already feels like it is building a following.

Soul Songwat moves into a row of former warehouses once tied to the city’s trading past, now reworked into something far more current. The bones remain, with hints of old Chinese architecture, but the mood is lighter, geared towards casual eating, browsing and spending time by the river.

The space opens out with both indoor seating and open air areas facing the water. It has quickly become a draw for those looking to slow down for a while, helped by its old charm and easy pace. For now, only a small group of tenants has arrived, but more are on the way.

One of the first to land is Across 100 Pizza, a compact pizzeria with a glass fronted kitchen and a handful of seats, though most take their slices out into the wider space. The focus is New York style pizza, with a mix of classic and more varied toppings.

Upstairs, a few retail spots are beginning to fill in the picture. House of Vintage offers a curated mix of vintage finds, from watches and clothing to accessories and toys. Nearby, 30_6 pulls together a mix of everything from clothing and bags to glasses, diffusers and earrings, while Alice&Co. doubles as a café and a multi-brand retail space.

The space is open daily from 10am to 10pm. Soul Songwat is starting to find its rhythm, with more restaurants and shops preparing to open. It is not fully formed yet, but it will be worth coming back to see what arrives next.
