Need plans in Bangkok? Here are 14 events that’ll make you glad you left the house. Hunt for vinyl, check out quirky art, dance like nobody’s watching or hang with actual cats. Whatever your vibe, there’s an excuse here to explore the city.

Bangkok might be melting under the sun (figuratively, we hope), but the city’s still calling you to explore. This edition of Koktail Kurated is packed with everything from quirky art installations to a cat festival and night flea markets. Want to paint vinyl records, dance or go on a shopping spree? Done. Prefer something a bit more thoughtful, like staring at a work of art and pretending to be deep? Also done. Basically, Koktail’s got your fun-and-pondering cravings covered. The city’s alive, even in the hottest season and it’s waiting for you to explore.

1/14 Unicorn Rendezvous Weekend Market

Bathed in soft pastel pink (even down to its Thai spirit house!) Sretsis Inn offers a laid-back backdrop for a weekend market that calls out to thrift lovers wanting a break from Bangkok’s commotion. It’s a place to slow down and dig for handmade quirky gems. After all, its motto goes “Seekers Keepers” (not finders) because the best finds come to those who search. It’s the kind of place that makes the thrift spree feel low-key magical.

2/14 Lue-Du-Ron Summer Market

The name plays on two meanings – a spin on the Thai word for “summer” and lue which means “you” in Teochew – coming together as a fun little tease: “You look hot!” Well, if this heat has you feeling like you’re melting, then you’re not alone. So why not embrace the sun and go hunting for heat-relief essentials like SPF oil and cool sunglasses, along with artsy finds like beaded bracelets and cute outfits made for sunny days? Maybe grab a refreshing bottle of kombucha while you’re at it, too.

3/14 Thailand Cat Lovers Fair 2026

If you’ve ever wanted to see rare Thai cat breeds up close, this is your chance. From Suphalak and Korat to Wichienmaat, Konja and Khao Manee, there’s plenty to admire – but the real showstopper is Nilkan, with those mesmerising two-coloured eyes. But it’s not just about cuteness overload, mind you; it’s also about the formal qualities of these cats. Plus, there’ll be games, competitions, health checkups and a special talk for all you feline enthusiasts. Try to keep your cute aggression in check when you’re there.

4/14 Peeps & Pals: Ari’s Alley

Ari is due for another cool hangout! Peeps & Pals are hosting their very first event, creating that “friends making art together” vibe, and Ari is the perfect backdrop for that. Now in the roomy AIS Fibre House, Peeps & Pals: Ari’s Alley has all kinds of creative activities lined up: painting vinyl records, making cassette tapes, guitar lessons and live shows from rising Thai artists Praesun, Paiinntt and WIM. These activities are fun on their own, but even better with new friends.

5/14 RRR Rookie Reuse Recycle Chapter 5: Old Town Road

This weekend at Tha Phra Athit, right by the Chao Phraya River, over 20 handpicked vendors are taking over the space. Expect cool clothing, pretty jewellery and handmade arts and crafts all carefully curated (so no, it’s not just anybody setting up shop). The musical vibe? It’s Thai funk – yes, it’s as cool as it sounds – and molam. But it’s not just about shopping. There’s also a guided Old Town exploration, though the details are being kept under wraps, so you’ll have to show up to find out.

6/14 F-Holes – Jason Montinola

A solo exhibition by Filipino artist Jason Montinola, F-Holes can be described as a series of moving portraits of a single character conceived by him back in 2006. She is a “sentinel of music” whose origins are murky. Montinola’s paintings capture the many moods she embodies as music flows through her, transforming her in ever-renewing ways. Through each iteration viewers come to understand her more deeply. And like all great art the works invite personal interpretation. Strict definitions can only go so far.

7/14 Joel Mesler Exhibitions

Harper’s Bangkok at Siam Patumwan House opens on 30 March with the Lost and Found exhibition of American contemporary artist Joel Mesler. This marks his first presentation in Southeast Asia and will run until 30 April. Concurrently Central Chidlom will be holding The Experience exhibition also by Mesler. Here, guests can explore an immersive, sensory art experience, where emotions are expressed through vibrant colors, complete with a playground and an interactive balloon installation. At night, façade art will be projected, turning Central Chidlom into a kind of open-air art space. There will also be gelato from Good Licks, if you’re currently obsessed with the recent gelato craze.

8/14 Thai Tay Flea Market

The Thai Tay Culture theme is back and so is your excuse to wander aimlessly through a flea market. Expect lively alleys, people on a shopping mission and booths full of cool little knick-knacks. But here’s the secret: night shopping is where it’s at. Suddenly, you’re flipping through secondhand vinyl like a pro, inspecting clothes like a stylist and convincing yourself it’s all necessary. Blame the night air – and the music!

9/14 Brush Strokes by Day, Beats by Night

Ever wish you could stroll through art, chat with the artists and dance your heart out – all in one spot? Head to 515 Victory Hotel for something wonderfully weird. It’s part gallery, part dance floor. Who knew the two could mix so well? It’s an ideal event for anyone tired of traffic and hopping between venues. By day soak in the art (no boring wall texts needed) and by night shake it on the dance floor. Basically it’s a two-for-one win for your brain and your feet. One ticket, two distinct experiences, zero regrets.

10/14 Buddha Symphony

Want to connect with dhamma but not in the usual temple way? Try something different – perhaps a symphony concert! This one-of-a-kind performance brings the life of Buddha to life with Pali chants and contemporary Thai melodies. Sit back and be drawn in as the story unfolds through song and classical Thai poetry, performed by the Chulalongkorn University Symphony Orchestra and Festival Chorus. You might even feel more at peace with your inner self after it ends!

11/14 Bangkok Art Walk

Bangkok Art Walk returns for the third time and with each edition, it feels a little more magical. Yes, we all like art, but sometimes we don’t want to see finished pieces (the kind housed in galleries across Bangkok); we want to see ones in the making. After all, what is art if not a living process, constantly changing and evolving? Well, you can do just that this weekend (and the next, too). Tha Maharaj feels quaint enough for this kind of artistic gathering, and it’s not just painters either. There will also be photographers, artists and jewellery designers present. It’s art in motion – quite literally, as you’ll be walking up and down the streets.

12/14 National Book Fair & Bangkok International Book Fair 2026

Thailand’s biggest book fair is back and honestly, it’s starting to feel like a public holiday. Book lovers treat it like a yearly ritual they just can’t skip. Thai and international publishers spread out across eight zones, covering everything from literature and kids’ books to foreign titles, rare finds and comics. This year, there’s a special twist: brand-new zones just for Boys’ Love (BL) and Girls’ Love (GL), giving fans of the genres an extra reason to show up.

13/14 MAEWKHOO Pop-up Store

Planning to hit the golf course this weekend? Stop by the MAEWKHOO pop-up at Thaniya Plaza in Silom for stylish golfwear that lets you play – and look like a pro. After all, what you wear can boost your confidence and even improve your grip! Known for challenging traditional golf attire, MAEWKHOO’s latest collection, Silver & Gold Golf, flips the conservative image of golf on its head. Want to see how? Come check it out.

14/14 OFF THE RADAR, We Rise

Art is serious business in Bangkok, with countless artists vying for exhibition space, and unfortunately, not everyone gets a chance. This new exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) shines a light on the unpredictable life of artists in today’s world. Those often overlooked by the mainstream art scene are given a platform to make their voices heard. While it’s true that failure can inspire great art, this exhibition also sparks a larger conversation: art shouldn’t be a privilege – it’s a basic right. Curious about the challenges of being an artist in Thailand? This is the place to see it.
