It was a breezy day with just the right amount of sunshine. By evening the sunset coloured the sky, setting the scene for a relaxed visit to Rava Beach Club operated by Banyan Tree. Located in Bangtao, one of Phuket’s top destinations, the beach club is among a mix of luxury resorts and beachside relaxation, surrounded by lagoons, coconut palms and clear waters.
As the shuttle departs from Banyan Tree to Rava Beach Club, a few interesting facts come into focus. The word “Rava” translates to sound and reverberation, a fitting name for this expansive beachfront space.
It is also Phuket’s newest beach club, stretching 180 metres along the shoreline and with the longest beachfront on the island. Every detail is designed to enhance the experience, making it a prime spot for relaxation and enjoyment.
As we arrive at the beach, three infinity pools catch the eye, making the space feel open and expansive as they shimmer under the sunlight. By evening the water mirrors the sunset’s colours, and at night the area transforms into a softly lit but lively scene.
Our first impression of the beach club is its spacious, modern design that accommodates groups of all sizes – whether friends, families, or couples. The overall aesthetic is minimal yet inviting that adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
Guests stroll around and embrace nature. They can take part in wellness activities and watersports, enjoy time with family at the dining areas, or simply relax and unwind. For those who want to party live music and DJs set the beat, while parents and children can enjoy quiet corners to have fun together.
Rava offers three specialised zones, each providing a different experience to suit every visitor.
Young & Fun: With 180 seats, three infinity pools and private cabanas, the space shifts from sun-soaked lounging by day to electrifying vibes by night, as live performances and DJs keep the energy alive. It’s the heartbeat of the beach club.
Master Grill: A live-fire culinary destination with a massive charcoal oven, where guests gather to enjoy the theatre of flame-cooked dishes. The menu ranges from dry-aged steaks to whole grilled seafood and inventive sides, prepared by Chef Joshua Gray and his team.
Prestige: An exclusive haven for Banyan Group Residence owners, it provides a private infinity pool, air-conditioned dining and curated soundscapes.
Our visit took place during the launch of the beach club’s newest addition the Pura Vida Sunday brunch, featuring free-flow Veuve Clicquot at 6,900 THB per person. A roaming live singer adds just the right energy, keeping the atmosphere lively without ever overwhelming the space.
The beach club allows a chance to reconnect with nature without sacrificing modern conveniences, which create a peaceful escape for rest and reflection. Rava delivers experiences shaped as much by feeling as by facilities, with music and live-action cooking making a visit memorable. Before leaving, the boutique invites guests to explore mindful, sustainable souvenirs, reflecting Banyan Tree’s commitment to caring for the planet.
