When creativity and play come together, meaningful action follows. On Saturday 4 October, Bangkok 1899 becomes a playground of ideas, art, and inspiration as neo-baannok hosted “Climate Playground: Connect Creatives for Climate Action”, an initiative inviting people of all ages to reimagine environmental engagement through creativity and collaboration.
Behind neo-baannok is a spirited collective of young Thais who believe that change begins not only with awareness but with imagination. United by their passion for art, music, and storytelling, the group has set out to use creativity as a bridge between people and the planet.
The event, held as part of the Creatives for Climate Action – Thailand (CCAT) Global Hub during Bangkok Climate Action Week 2025, was organised in collaboration with the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY), and JIGSAW Thailand. It welcomed guests into a space where art met activism and creativity became a driver of climate action.
Visitors wandered through interactive art made from reused materials, inspired by voices of youth from across Thailand gathered through the Children Youth and the Environment Survey (CYES).
Live music filled the air while a cosy craft market showcased local handmade goods. The Speed Connecting sessions offered attendees a chance to meet like-minded creatives and dreamers, those who care about building a sustainable future together.
True to its theme, neo-baannok designed the day as a “playground for grown-ups with young hearts.” It was a space to explore, reconnect, and rediscover hope through art and community with a goal of continuing to build momentum for environmental awareness and creative climate action.
The evening gathered special guests from various fields, all sharing one message: that the power of collective creativity can indeed spark real climate action. And while the event was entirely non-profit, its impact will ripple far beyond the night, as funds raised will go toward supporting neo-baannok’s ongoing environmental projects.
Climate Playground highlighted that climate action can grow from a sense of wonder and that it can begin with simple acts of curiosity, connection, and creativity.
