Tanis “Nut” Jearsavaswattana

Owner & Creator, Nutped cartoon

Industry : The Arts

Tanis is a manga and Thai comic fan, and this led to the creation of a now well-loved comic strip called Nutped, a highschool nickname derived from his own nickname, Nut, and his father’s nickname, Ped. The cartoon strip started off as just a bit of lunchtime fun while he was working as a creative director at a top advertising agency. It featured a series of nameless characters that readers could identify with, and its Facebook page soon attracted millions of followers who enjoy the “feel good” themes of friendship and relationship to contemporary social events, presented with a sense of humour. Tanis believes his role is to put a smile on people’s faces, even during tough times like the pandemic. He is also proud of helping to build up a new generation of content creators and is now looking to expand into the NFT platform.
