Thailand’s Favourite Restaurants, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), introduces “Culinary Gems of Thailand”, a new six-part series that ventures into the daily lives of some of Thailand’s most acclaimed chefs as they prepare food for their guests, from market to table. This episode features Rark, an authentic Thai restaurant situated in the Yannawa area of Bangkok. Rark is a tiny hidden gem owned and run by chef “Save” and chef “Tao”. Natalie and Nigel joined the chefs at the local market to first buy the ingredients for a specially arranged demonstration of their cooking skills. Save and Tao have cooked together at some of the leading Michelin-starred restaurants in Bangkok, but their true love for cooking is to have a small intimate restaurant with just two guest tables in the kitchen. Guests can watch as the duo operates seamlessly in preparing as many as 25 different dishes plus dessert over the course of an evening. This is traditional Thai style cooking brought very much up to date.
