Von Dutch and pop culture icon Popeye have unveiled their custom apparel collection in support of The SeaCleaners, an ocean cleanup organization which is fighting for a pollution-free ocean. The iconic Hollywood heritage brand presents Popeye-themed unisex apparel and accessories.
The collection features a line of reimagined streetwear staples, which includes hoodie and jogger sets in Popeye-themed patterns, short sleeve tees, and crewnecks. Each piece has been thoughtfully created with comic-inspired illustrations with the sailor man’s fabled silhouette pasted into the collection.
The collaboration involves a number of suitably sustainable efforts in the line. The hang tags are made from recycled paper. The organic textiles selected for the garments are produced in accordance with organic farming standards and with the Global Organic Textile Standard certification. Moreover, the raw materials used for the products in the collection have been produced with approval from the USDA National Organic Program (NOP).
There’s no better cartoon for the collection, as Popeye stands up for what is right and defends those in need. So it’s fitting for the sailor man to join the SeaCleaners in saving the ocean.
