Canon celebrates 30 years of PowerShot with a limited edition compact camera, exclusive in Thailand.

In this spirit, Canon marks 2026 as 30 years of PowerShot, a compact camera line that has changed how everyday life gets documented. To celebrate, the brand introduces the PowerShot G7 X Mark III Commemorative Edition in exclusive graphite, finished with a 30th anniversary logo and signature wrist strap, released in strictly limited numbers. 

The Comeback of Simple, Everyday Photography

Since the PowerShot 600 first launched in July 1996, the PowerShot series keeps evolving for users at every level, from first-time shooters to content creators who want simple yet high-quality photo and video tools. Today, the lineup includes three main series: G series for high image quality in a compact body, V series for easy video creation tools and SX series for powerful long-zoom performance.  

In recent years digital compact cameras have made a quiet comeback in Thailand. Many people love the aesthetic feel and reliable image quality, seen as a kind of graduation from the film camera hype trend. What stands out most is simplicity and convenience. This 30-year legacy of an iconic compact camera comes together in a collector’s edition. The PowerShot G7 X Mark III limited edition arrives in exclusive graphite with a textured control ring and a design made for collectors. Part of the G series, it delivers high image quality in a compact lightweight body and comes in a special box set that highlights its limited release.

What makes it stand out lies in the everyday essentials that come with it. In Thailand, Canon partners with premium camera accessory brand NEXT to design a leather camera case with strap created to complement the commemorative release.

The camera features a 20.1MP 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor with DIGIC 8 processor for sharp detail and strong low-light performance. The 24–100mm f/1.8–2.8 zoom lens offers flexibility for landscapes, portraits and everyday shooting with natural background blur.

For video, it supports 4K UHD 30p without crop and Full HD up to 120fps for slow motion. It also supports up to 30fps continuous shooting in RAW Burst mode for fast action moments.

The design includes a 180-degree tilting touchscreen for selfies, vlogs and streaming, plus a 3.5mm microphone input and YouTube live streaming via image.canon, making it a tool for modern creators.
