Here are the groups you can support as they help on the ground

Last week, two devastating earthquakes struck southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria. This has led to widespread destruction causing over 33,000 deaths. The wreckage of collapsed buildings sent rescuers from around the world digging through piles of ruins in search for survivors.

Those affected are now homeless, and are severely in need of resources, food, shelter, and medical aid. If you would like to help, donating to a reputable global relief organization is a great way to make a difference.

Here are a few charities:

Doctors without Borders, a charity that provides humanitarian medical care.

Save the Children, an international charity to provide children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance.

Islamic Relief,  a faith-inspired humanitarian and development agency which is working to support and empower the world’s most vulnerable people.

Oxfam, a British-founded confederation of 21 independent charitable organizations focusing on the alleviation of global poverty, founded in 1942 and led by Oxfam International.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, a humanitarian movement with approximately 97 million volunteers, members and staff worldwide. It was founded to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering.

People in Need, a non-governmental organization based in Prague, Czech Republic which implements humanitarian relief and long term development projects, educational programmes, and human rights programmes in crisis affected regions internationally.

Union of Medical Care and Relief Organisations (UOSSM), a coalition of humanitarian, non-governmental, and medical organizations from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, and Turkey. The organization has been providing resources to victims of the war in Syria since 2012.

Action for Humanity, a non-governmental organization which provides aid and assistance to people affected by natural and man-made disasters, and is the parent charity of Syria Relief.
