Set to be launched in January 2023, the brand new Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Collection will bring the artist’s emblematic motifs to the Maison’s creations. As part of the celebration for the collaboration, fans will get to experience Kusama’s work in an entirely new way: a series of immersive installations inspired by Kusama’s hypnotic motifs will take over parts of Tokyo and will include a mix of augmented reality experiences as well as physical installations.
The collaboration was first teased as part of the luxury label’s Cruise 2023 show in May 2022. Although exact items were not revealed, they did drop accessories and signature handbags that featured the artist’s iconic polka dots with 3D metallic sphere balls. Meanwhile, fans will have to wait patiently until the collection officially arrives on January 23, 2023.
If you happen to be traveling to Japan anytime soon, or even better, are in the country now, you can already feast your eyes on various installations across Tokyo, which will be available until the end of the year. Art installations have been placed at Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Station, Zojoji Temple, Shiba Park, and Shinjuku district.
