Pitchapa “Namoon” Wangprasertkul turns a critical eye towards the structures governing everyday life. Through performance and installation, she explores where labour and politics meet, examining the pressures of economic insecurity and the systems that determine how people work, adapt and endure.

Her perspective is sharpened by an unusual professional duality. Alongside her artistic practice, Namoon works in Thailand’s advertising industry, giving her first-hand experience of workplace dynamics, corporate culture and urban life that her art often interrogates.

Recent projects demonstrate the breadth of that inquiry. Things Left to Forget & Things that Stay appeared at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in 2025, following her solo exhibition Don’t Cry at Work at Bangkok’s Gallery VER in 2024. Her work has been presented internationally, including in Sweden, Greece, the Philippines and Indonesia. These experiences have given her first-hand insight into the different ways artists and cultural production are supported, including how public policy can contribute to creating more secure conditions for artistic practice.

These encounters have also refined her ambitions for Thailand’s creative community. With opportunities still limited, Namoon sees greater exchange and stronger support systems as foundations for sustainable artistic careers. She hopes to draw on the relationships she has developed through her international practice to connect emerging Thai artists with practitioners elsewhere and facilitate knowledge exchange, helping knowledge and opportunities circulate more widely.
