Nattapon Siangsukon, better known as DJ Maft Sai, is best known for reviving traditional molam northeastern music and putting it on the world music stage. As a record collector and DJ, his musicology spans everything from luk thing and molam to reggae, West African, Ethiopian and Far Eastern music, and he has performed at gigs from around Asia and Europe. His Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band combines vintage molam music with funky rhythm sections that has enchanted crowds as far afield as Glastonbury. His Zudrangma record label, and a record store which opened in 2007, specialises in funky molam-infused music which feature at his live "Paradise Bangkok" and "Isan Dancehall" showcases, while Studio Lam helps to promote non-mainstream artists. As an artist and business owner, he was badly impacted by Covid, but the UK-educated musician put his efforts into personal and online music projects as well as meditation and family. Within the next year, he will release The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band’s 3rd album, as well as new bands on his Zudrangma Records Label. He is also looking forward to going back on the international tour circuit as a DJ.
