It’s not everyday someone tells you they’re passionate about making toys. A 90s kid who works in the creative marketing field, “Charlie” Na Nagara fondly recalls an offline childhood of playing outside with friends and playing with physical toys. Combined with formal studies on human-centric product design, he founded TaksaToys with his family when he was barely out of university. Today, TaksaToys has three main products, Resources, ArchKidTech, and Lomoco, all of which have been purposefully designed to unlock children’s creativity and ‘taksa’, the Thai word for ‘skills’. TaksaToys has been celebrated in international conventions such as Spielwarenmesse in Germany, but Charlie’s hopes for his toys are for them to get picked up more in Thailand, where toys aren’t as highly regarded as learning and development tools as they are in Western societies like Germany and Japan.
