Dr Petch is a conservation scientist with 20 years experience in biodiversity research, protected area management, and conservation science training. His organisation, ReReef, is a Thailand-based environmental and sustainability enterprise with outreach in SE Asia providing practical solutions for a healthy planet by empowering consumers and building business cases for a circular economy. His conservation career has taken him from the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Thailand, Asian Waterbird Census (AWC), and WWF Thailand. He also lends his expertise to UNDP and the Zoological Society of London as technical advisor, and has a string of fellowships at leading international universities such as Cornell, University of Hawaii, Duke University and Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology. He is also an environmental columnist for various publications including National Geographic Thailand, and received the 2018 National Geographic Thailand Explorer Award. He has plans to publish books on Earth’s extinction crisis and solutions, and help steer Thailand towards a sustainable pathway. His hobbies include reading, trekking, bird watching, and nature photography.
