Born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Nalutporn, or Nu, encountered firsthand the challenges of inequality during her school years, where the lack of facilities often restricted her participation in various activities. Despite facing obstacles, Nu earned a degree in art from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. To gain practical skills, she took an online journalism course, during which time she realised her potential to make a significant impact as a writer. Subsequently, she joined Prachatai newspaper, focusing on reporting gender and disability disparities. In 2016, Nu launched ThisAble.me, concentrating specifically on disability issues, including sensitive topics such as sex, with the aim of fostering an environment that enables people with disabilities to participate equally in society. Simultaneously, she embarked on a political journey with the goal of changing perspectives toward the disabled at the policy level. Nu's efforts have earned her accolades, including the Human Rights Defenders Award from the National Human Rights Commission in 2018 and recognition from Amnesty International in 2020.
