Dr Kanpassorn, a dentist turned tech entrepreneur, has made a significant impact by founding Ooca, Thailand's first mental wellness application, and transforming the landscape of mental health support. Having experienced mental health issues since her youth, exacerbated by stress from medical studies and a male-dominated hierarchy at an army hospital, she faced challenges accessing therapy through conventional channels. In response, she created an application facilitating online video consultations with reputable psychologists or psychiatrists. Ooca's services extend beyond individuals to encompass leading corporations that prioritise their employees' mental health. Recognizing that millions of Thai youngsters and teenagers face mental health risks but lack the financial means for consultation, Dr. Kanpassorn launched the "Wall of Sharing" website. Donations of 470 baht contribute to providing one student with a session of online consultation service. Since its launch in 2017, Dr Kanpassorn's initiatives have earned her the 2017 World Summit Award, recognition in BBC 100 Women 2018, and The People Award Top100 in 2022. Dr Kanpassorn projects that Ooca will become the most impactful mental wellness tech company in ASEAN in 2024 and beyond.
