Thailand’s Favourite Restaurants, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), introduces season 2 of “Culinary Gems of Thailand”, with six new episodes hosted by Natalie Phanphensophon and Nigel Oakins. They venture into the daily lives of some of Thailand’s most colourful chefs as they prepare food for their guests, from farm and market to table.
In this episode, Natalie and Nigel drop in on Chef Bank Chatchawan, head chef of Samut Phuket. This restaurant specialises in modern Thai cuisine, focusing on fresh seafood prepared with local ingredients and spices. Chef Bank's journey began humbly, cooking at home and later refining his skills working alongside renowned chefs. Chef Bank focuses on ingredients sourced from the coastal waters of Thailand and integrating these components into each menu, connecting them to the unique cultures and communities of the local regions he represents. His artistic flair, influenced by his background as a jazz musician, shines through with each dish becoming a harmonious creation. Samut Phuket owes its success to a team fuelled by passion and dedication. Rightfully earning its place as a destination that should be on every food lover's map.
