Experience live music and vintage hunting at 1981 Soul & Sold, now open at the transformed The Mall Ramkhamhaeng on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 15.

Selling your soul used to mean a midnight deal with the devil at a Delta crossroads. At 1981 Soul & Sold – the much-anticipated rebirth of The Mall Ramkhamhaeng – the temptation is entirely different. Far from your typical retail, this is a devilishly cool cultural collision of live rock ‘n’ roll, vintage market hunting and bohemian energy right on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 15.

At the epicentre of this cultural hub is YAANALOG, which features a towering sculpture installation of analogue televisions and sound systems that serves as a backdrop for live music. The ‘newstalgic’ setup pays homage to the early days of the MTV revolution – the exact moment music videos became an art form and video officially killed the radio star.

1981 Soul & Sold sections off its floors by identity, but lets the culture run wild. Instead of separating fashion, music and art, this ‘cultural ecosystem’ throws them into the same current and lets the interests merge.

• Ground Floor: Home to Gourmet Market and 1981 Gourmet Eats. It functions as Ramkhamhaeng’s new food and hangout hub, packing in over 150 different restaurants and local street food stalls.

• 1st Floor: RETRO CLUB. A floor dedicated to 80s and 90s pop culture, music and fashion. Key spaces include Hang Thong Bar, F’Museum X Longnuam Boyz, BANGKOK HOT ROD, PRONTO & Co., LAB LIVE ROOM and the 1981 Gallery Library.

• 2nd Floor: VINTAGE HOUSE. This area focuses on vintage clothes, accessories, independent crafts and tattoo parlours. Main spots to check out are LOOKER CAFE and TATTOO BROTHERS x 1981 Studio.

• 3rd Floor: NEWSTALGIA. A mix of workwear, streetwear, home decor and grooming services, all set under a late-night, music-focused atmosphere.

• 4th Floor: 1981 LIVE HALL. An indoor event and gig space built for live music, art exhibitions and community events. It comes equipped with full audio-visual systems and holds around 400-500 people.
