Koktail Diskover: Hotel Art Fair Returns for Its Ninth Edition with 36 Rooms of Contemporary Art at KROMO Bangkok

Hotel Art Fair 2026 returns to KROMO Bangkok from 5 to 7 June, transforming 36 hotel rooms into exhibition spaces under the theme REM: Return to the Imaginative.

Hotel Art Fair has returned for its ninth edition, transforming 36 rooms at KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton into exhibition spaces for galleries and artists from Thailand and abroad. Running from 5 to 7 June 2026, the fair takes place across the hotel’s 11th and 12th floors under the theme REM: Return to the Imaginative.

Unlike a traditional gallery setting, Hotel Art Fair invites visitors to move from room to room, encountering artworks within spaces designed and curated by artists and galleries themselves. Each room offers a different perspective, creating a more personal and accessible way to experience contemporary art.

A Return to Imagination

According to Varinda Thienachariya, Founder of FARMGROUP and creator of Hotel Art Fair, the concept emerged from a desire to make space for imagination once again.

Among the highlights this year is the first solo exhibition by Thanachai “Pod” Ujjin, musician, artist and frontman of Modern Dog. Presented within a hotel room setting, the exhibition features a new collection of abstract portraits created as a form of personal reflection.

Elsewhere, visitors can step into the rooms created by SATURDAY PAINTERS, a collective led by contemporary artist Angkrit Ajchariyasophon. Featuring more than 12 artists from different generations, the exhibition changes daily throughout the three day event, offering visitors a different experience each time they return.

Reflecting on the group’s approach, Angkrit said:

Another room attracting attention is MAEWKHOO BY DENNIS KARLSSON, an installation that transforms a hotel room into a contemporary shrine centred around the artist’s monumental sculpture, Dok Mai Jao. Known for working across fashion, design, architecture and installation art, Karlsson sees curiosity as a key part of the visitor experience.

He added:

Beyond the artworks themselves, Hotel Art Fair plays a role in supporting Thailand’s creative economy and cultural sector. According to the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the previous edition generated an economic impact of THB 74.4 million while attracting international visitors and younger audiences interested in art and culture. This year’s edition takes place at KROMO Bangkok, where the fair’s room by room format feels particularly at home. Spread across two hotel floors, visitors move between galleries, installations and artist-led spaces, creating a very different experience from a conventional gallery visit.
