The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has revealed a new 250-metre elevated link connecting Benjakitti Park and Lumphini Park. Painted in bright mint green, the walkway is set to open unofficially to joggers and casual strollers on 1 May.

Construction, which began around May last year with a planned year-long schedule, has been accelerated to meet the contract deadline of 11 May. With its curvy path and shady nooks, the walkway turns the parks into one flowing green stretch.

Deputy Bangkok Governor Jakkapan Phiewngam and his Environment Department team recently visited the site to check that everything is on track. He stressed that the next phase should focus on keeping the area green, adding more shaded spots, improving the water circulation system and making it safe for everyone.

Additionally, the 1.6-km bridge at Sarasin Intersection-Ratchadaphisek Road area is getting a new look. As part of a city upgrade by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, it’s also expected to be complete within May.

The elevated walkway is now a vibrant mix of red, purple, and yellow, with trees providing shade and textured surfaces for better grip and easier runs. While it’s not fully finished, some sections are already open for you to try.
