Set to premiere on 24 April, the Japanese remake of Girl From Nowhere is stirring excitement among fans, with a lineup of directors attached to the project.

Class is officially back in session! After the first episode of Girl From Nowhere: The Reset premiered last Saturday and quickly began making waves online, the Rebecca “Becky” Armstrong-led series has fans hooked once again.

Now the excitement is growing even more amid reports that Nanno’s story will expand with its first international remake, Transfer Student Nanno.

Based on Season 1 of the original Thai series, the six-episode remake is a collaboration between Fuji Television and GMM Studios International.

Directors attached to the project include Tsutsumi Yukihiko (20th Century Boys), Kumakiri Kazuyoshi (My Man), Yoo Youngseon (The Wrath) and Hatanaka Miyuki (Kimbap and Onigiri).

According to Variety, Hobara Kenichiro, executive producer at Fuji Television, notes how refreshingly different the Thai series is from Japanese school dramas:

The mysterious Nanno, basically karma in human form, will be portrayed by 20-year-old Nakajima Arisa in her acting debut. In every episode, she appears at a new school, revealing the darkness and hidden vices that lie beneath the education system and the human soul itself.

The Japanese adaptation is scheduled to premiere on April 24 exclusively on Fuji Television’s FOD streaming platform.
