Thailand’s own Nong Rak has been named one of the Top 20 finalists for the LVMH Prize 2026. With this achievement, Thailand enters a new chapter as one of its own reaches this stage of the world’s foremost award for emerging designers.
Founded in 2018 by designer duo and partners Cherry W. Rain-Phuangfueang and Teerapat “Home” Phuangfueang, Nong Rak began as an experimental label and evolved into a New York based design studio celebrated for its handcrafted crochet and knitting techniques. Working with dead stock yarns, locally dyed silk and rare, limited materials, the brand has become known for its signature gradient colour palettes and tactile, artful and organic form silhouettes.
Now back in Thailand, the duo has opened a new studio on Decho Road in Silom, a hybrid retail and creative space where raw silk dresses, sheer silk shirts and mohair accessories come to life through ongoing experimentation.
The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, established in 2013, was created to celebrate and support exceptional creative talent from around the world. The competition is open to designers aged 18 to 40 who have produced at least two ready to wear collections, offering a global platform for the next generation of fashion voices.
For this moment, the LVMH Prize 2026 will soon announce its final eight designers, selected from 20 shortlisted brands representing 17 nationalities.
The finalists will present their collections to the jury on 3 and 4 March during Paris Fashion Week at La Samaritaine.
