In the city of Bangkok where nothing ever stops, the food scene moves faster than anyone can keep up with. But worry not, this month’s Kulinary Current will bring you up to speed on what’s happening around the city.
From familiar favourites making a comeback to brand-new additions to the mix, there’s always something worth keeping an eye on.
Here are six culinary happenings to catch up on this October.
Following the devastating fire, local favourite Via Emilia is now available to order via Grab, LINE MAN or its website
Back in June, a devastating fire destroyed local favourite Via Emilia restaurant. Fast-forward three months and the restaurant is now taking orders via Grab, LINE MAN and its official website, viaemiliabangkok.com. You can once again enjoy its much-loved Lasagna Bolognese, Brodetto di Pesce and Tagliolini al Tartufo from the comfort of your own home.
The dining atmosphere may be different, but the familiar flavours are still there. So, if you’ve been missing Via Emilia’s authentic Italian cooking, now’s the time to welcome it back to your table and give the restaurant a little support as it gets back on its feet.

Australia’s frozen yoghurt favourite lands at CentralWorld with its first Thailand branch and biggest outlet in Southeast Asia
Bangkok’s frozen yoghurt scene just got a new addition. Meet Yo-Chi, the popular Australian brand bringing a little taste of the Land Down Under to the city.
Opening its first Thailand branch at CentralWorld, also its largest outlet in Southeast Asia, Yo-Chi centres its store concept on the idea of a “Third Space”: a hangout spot that goes beyond the usual café, restaurant or bar. Here, you can tuck into frozen yoghurt and organic açaí while soaking up the positive vibes.
Opening its doors on 23 October, Yo-Chi is ready to fill your cup with 10 flavours made with fresh Australian milk. Bangkok heat, consider yourself warned.

Le Méridien Bangkok hosts a coffee and chocolate omakase with illy Caffè and Duc de Praslin at Latitude 13 on 7 November, priced at THB 813 net per person
Coffee and chocolate are familiar café companions, whether it’s a pain au chocolat with your morning latte or a brownie alongside your flat white. Chocolate often plays second fiddle to coffee, but the right pairing can reveal flavour notes you might otherwise miss. For International Coffee Day, Latitude 13 at Le Méridien Bangkok puts this idea into practice with a special coffee omakase on 7 November. Italian coffee brand illy Caffè and Thailand-based Duc de Praslin present a tasting experience that shows how the right chocolate can bring out the best in each cup.
The tasting features six coffee creations and five chocolate pairings, with one coffee available in alcoholic or non-alcoholic form. Each course explores different beans and preparation techniques, from smooth milk-washed coffee to a Campari Spritz-inspired creation, while experts share the stories and craft behind each cup. With just 10 guests per session, you’ll have plenty of room to savour each pairing. The experience costs THB 813 net per person, with three sessions available at 11am-12.30pm, 1-2.30pm and 3-4.30pm on 7 November. Book your spot via Megatix.
