Taking Pablo Picasso’s famous words, “Good artists copy, great artists steal,” literally, Tawatchai Somkong claims the work of 34 artists with their consent in Front & Back: The Art of the Steal. He signs his name on the front of each piece, while the original artists sign theirs on the back, turning art theft into an open experiment.
With the act of appropriation out in the open, the exhibition challenges conventional ideas of authorship and ownership. When the original creator willingly shares the credit, the line between stealing and creating becomes less clear. After all, does an artwork belong to the person who made it, the one who signs it, or both?

Supple Gallery presents Aye Ko’s Talking Hands, an exhibition of 13 new paintings that explore communication through gestures, figures and fragmented forms. Familiar signs of anger, connection or distress become harder to read as colours clash and images overlap. The hands may catch the eye, but they are not always the focus. Instead, Aye Ko captures the difficulty of getting a message across when gestures can be misread and meaning gets lost, leaving viewers to interpret what the figures are trying to say.
