Rest means something different to everyone. For some, rest is silence. For others, it’s music that softens the noise of everyday life. A familiar voice, a gentle melody or a song that feels like it slows everything down for a moment.
The songs people turn to when they want to unwind are often deeply personal.
We asked Thai celebrities what they listen to when they want to unwind. From their all-time favourites and film soundtracks to their own tracks, their answers say a lot about how they rest, reset and find calm in their own way.
A preference for mellow energy in her favourite group.
“I can’t really think of anything, but one group comes to my mind. I listen to XG, but not their fast songs. XG also has slower tracks and I feel like every slow song is really good. I would recommend everyone to listen to them.”
A familiar Thai melody
“I do not really know. I would go with the Loy Krathong song.”
Soft comfort vs bold energy
Mable turns to something calm and comforting:
“Right now for me, it would be 3AM by Finding Hope. It is just very comforting to listen to.”
Pangjie keeps it sharp and energetic:
“Mine would be Spot! by Zico and Jennie.”
Peaceful and positive
“I would choose Fujii Kaze’s Garden. It feels very relaxing. The music feels bright and meaningful and the melody helps me unwind.”
Music as mood lift
“I am not sure if it is relaxing, but I have been listening to Lady Gaga’s Runway a lot lately after watching The Devil Wears Prada 2. It might not calm me down, but it definitely makes me feel happy.”
Old favourites return
“Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson. The movie just came out and although I have not watched it yet, I have been listening to the song for a long time. It feels chilled, but not the kind that makes you sleepy.”
Easy-listening mood
“Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You. It is such a soft and easy-listening song.”
Soft romance tone
“Afraid (Rayya Glai Rak) by JingJing Yu. It is now available on every platform, so please listen to it. It is a cute and comforting song, like the feeling of being in love.”
A letter from the songwriter to the listener, offering a moment of calm and ease.
“Sweet Baby (Tid Ter Sa Gon) by Jaonaay. It is a very easy and relaxing listen. You can enjoy it while driving or lying in bed. I really put effort into this song. Listening to it even makes you feel prettier or more handsome, 100%. Whenever I play it in the shower, I feel a little cleaner somehow. That is just how the songwriter feels although I am not sure whether listeners feel the same way.”
His own soundtrack moment
“This song. Same Old Song (Yang Fang Pleng Derm Yoo Mai) by Blue Pongtiwat. My song hahaha.”
Calm in every note
“It is River Flows in You by Yiruma. It is just piano music, but it makes me feel deeply focused, calm and comfortable being alone with my thoughts.”
Dreamlike listening
“I would say Lana Del Rey, honestly every song. For me, when I listen to her music, I feel light, almost like I am floating.”
A quiet background
“I usually play spa playlists on Spotify. They help me sleep really well. I watch documentaries as well.”
Six minutes of everything
“This might be a very unusual answer. I love spending time with Bohemian Rhapsody because it feels like six minutes that take you through every emotion possible. Once the song ends, it feels like I have released something.”
Simple and soothing
“One song I would like to listen to during my relaxing time? I would go with It’s You by Henry Lau.”
A collector’s listening ritual
“Currently it is Euphoria by Keshi. I recently bought a Keshi vinyl and I have been playing it every night and every morning.”
Reflective soundscapes
“Bandaids by Keshi. There is something about the sound that makes me feel reflective and comfortable being with myself.”
Staying in the same mood
“Usually I listen to R&B anyway, so when I want to relax, I naturally continue listening to R&B as well.”
Never tiring sound
“Honesty by Pink Sweat$. It makes me feel relaxed and I never get tired of listening to it. I have been listening to this song for years.”
A calm moment she also acts in
“The only thing that comes to mind is Dok Kra Jiao Ban. If anyone wants to feel relaxed and at ease, you can watch the music video too. The actress in the video looks quite familiar.”
