By the time March comes around, the heat is no longer a small thing. It softens your energy and shifts your routine. You find yourself thinking less about getting things done and more about how to stay cool. Getting through the day takes more effort, workouts feel optional and staying cool becomes the only real plan.
It got us thinking, so we asked Thai celebrities what’s the first thing that comes to mind when the March heat hits.
Some go straight to refreshing desserts and cooling meals because food always saves the day. Others think of escaping to the sea, or even leaning into the heat (because apparently, heat meets heat?). Either way, everyone has their own way of dealing with it.
Sweet Escape
“Shaved ice? Or ice cream? I love sweets. And oh, right now something really trending is khao chae. I’m not familiar with it but I keep seeing it everywhere. It’s being promoted a lot and selling really well.”
Ocean State of Mind
“When it’s summer, what comes to my mind? The sea, of course. And anything cool, like cold water.”
From Sushi to Sips
“Lately I’ve been really into Japanese food, but at night, I think of a cocktail. I’m being serious.”
Cool Bites Only
“There are many drinks in Thailand that help, like watermelon smoothies. They really can help. For food, I like something like cold soba with tempura. It feels refreshing.”
The Perfect Beachside Escape
“In summer, I think of the sea, swimming and ice cream.”
Chinese Pastry Bun Mood – a playful nod to his brand, Navori
“I like desserts. Chinese pastry buns are nice.”
Hydration Mode On
“I prefer things that help with hydration, like watermelon juice or coconut water, to keep my potassium levels up during the day.”
Beach Daydreams
“When it’s hot, I think of the ocean, the waves, the beach and the feeling of being there.”
Chill & Slice
“Watermelon. Cold watermelon, cut in half and scooped with a spoon. So good.”
Instant Refresh
“I’d go for ice cream to cool down a bit.”
Catch of the Day
“The sea, because I want to eat seafood.”
Sip Something Fresh
“During summer like this, you have to drink something refreshing and tasty.”
Songkran Spirit
“Sweat… and the need to cool down. You have to wear light, comfortable clothes.
And of course, Songkran!”
