Bursting with colour and character, a new chapter unfolds at Bar.Yard, marking a confident rebrand that captures a fresher, more expressive energy. Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok introduces this renewed identity with a vibrant Latin-Thai spirit that runs through every detail, from the design language to the food and cocktails.
Bar.Yard welcomes everyone to a new rooftop energy, set to become the go-to spot for open-air nights high above the city – whether for sunset cocktails, casual catch-ups or spontaneous nights that stretch a little longer than planned.
The moment guests step onto the 40th floor, the tone is set. The rooftop space now radiates vivid hues and graphic motifs, with icons such as the hornbill, bird of paradise, serpent and sun woven into the visual story.
The hornbill and bird of paradise channel tropical vibrancy, while the serpent and sun evoke movement and warmth that carry the rooftop from sunset into night. These motifs appear across wallpaper, lamps and decorative details throughout the space, rooting the rooftop in nature and creating a setting that feels alive, shaped for social energy.

Beyond aesthetics, sustainability forms a meaningful part of the narrative. Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok integrates environmentally conscious practices into the experience, including the use of locally sourced ingredients and small but impactful details such as eco-friendly coasters made from collected beach debris.
In the kitchen, the culinary direction reflects this same cross-cultural rhythm. Peruvian chef Julio César Concha Muñoz leads the menu with a perspective shaped by Pan-Latin flavours and Thai influence. Drawing inspiration from Nikkei cuisine, where Japanese techniques combine with Peruvian ingredients, his dishes incorporate Thai spice and local produce.
Barbecue stays at the heart of the menu, with comforting favourites. Slow-cooked beef brisket, smoked ribs, skewers and grilled prawns sit alongside lighter bites and vegetarian options. The offering suits mixed groups and varied appetites, whether guests are settling in for a full meal or grazing between cocktails.

At the bar, creativity continues with a cocktail programme that mirrors the rooftop’s tropical personality. Latin and Thai elements converge in drinks that reinterpret classics with playful twists and eye-catching presentation.

Menu highlights include Ma Muang Suk, a bright blend of homemade mango cordial, tamarind, coconut and corn that feels refreshing. BDSM, short for Best Damn Spicy Margarita, combines homemade pomegranate goji and ancho chilli syrup with citrus for a bold kick, while Chao Phraya mixes grapefruit habanero cordial, pineapple acid and soda for a tropical edge. Each cocktail captures the venue’s playful spirit and cheeky character.
As night falls, Bangkok’s leading DJs take over with Afro House sets and remixed favourites. With its refreshed identity, Bar.Yard stands as more than a rooftop bar; it is a social hub rooted in colour, culture and connection. Design, music and cuisine come together under the open Bangkok sky, a balance of energy and ease.
Bar.Yard opens daily, Sunday to Wednesday from 5 pm – 1 am with extended hours until 2 am from Thursday to Saturday. For reservations or enquiries, call +66 2 056 9999 or visit kimptonmaalaibangkok.com.
