White runways are nice, clean, controlled, predictable. But the wild ones go elsewhere and it’s even better. 

These are some places of the unexpected: padel courts, bouldering gyms, ancient wonders, and even transparent eggs scattered across city streets.

Here’s where fashion got wonderfully weird.

Moo Bangkok at Pad Thai Padel and Balance Prime Boulder Gym

Moo Bangkok said “Why not?” and turned sports venues into their personal catwalk. Their Spring/Summer 2025 collection strutted across the courts at Pad Thai Padel. Nothing says fashion like the thwack of a padel ball in the background. 

Then for their Moo Mountain Club collection, they took over Balance Prime Boulder Gym, where models weaved between climbing walls and chalk-dusted holds.

It was athleisure meeting actual athletics and honestly the contrast of delicate fabrics against rubber floors and climbing ropes was a joy to watch, serving looks while serving aces.

Pipatchara at Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

Pipatchara took fashion straight into the deep blue for their AQUA R US collection. 

Last month the brand traded runways for coral reefs, staging an underwater fashion show at Seam Life Bangkok Ocean World.

Models drifted among schools of fish in flowy silhouettes made from recycled fishing nets, turning sustainability into spectacle. The show was a call to protect the oceans while celebrating their beauty.

Fendi at the Great Wall of China

In 2007 Fendi went absolutely epic, literally one of the seven wonders epic. They staged their Spring/Summer 2007 show atop the Great Wall of China, a move that took nearly a year to plan and a cool million dollars to pull off. 

Models walked along the ancient stone fortress as the sun set, their silhouettes framed against centuries of history. It was part fashion show, part pilgrimage.

Jacquemus in Provence Lavender Fields

Jacquemus turned its 10th anniversary into a literal dream sequence with endless rows of purple lavender stretching to the horizon, sliced through by a hot pink runway.

The Spring/Summer 2020 show in Provence was a full sensory experience. The scent, the colour contrast, the gentle breeze, it felt less like a show and more like stepping into a particularly chic painting. Jacquemus proved you do not need walls or a ceiling when nature, in this case a French landscape, has already set the perfect stage.

KASA at Mount Everest

Sometimes fashion literally reaches new heights, specifically 5,340 metres above sea level near Everest Base Camp. 

On January 26, 2020, models strutted across Kala Patthar at 5,340 meters, claiming a Guinness World Record for the highest altitude fashion show on land. Not stopping there, on September 23, 2021, they returned near Gokyo 6th Lake, blending sustainable style with breathtaking vistas and aiming to push that record even higher. 

This was not a publicity stunt either. It earned a Guinness World Record for the highest fashion show ever while shining a spotlight on climate change and sustainable fashion. Models walked across rocky terrain with the world’s highest peak looming overhead, their breath visible in the thin mountain air. Talk about taking your breath away, both literally and figuratively. 

Chanel in Havana

Chanel rolled into Havana in 2016 for their Resort 2017 collection, turning the Paseo del Prado into a runway lined with colonial architecture, vintage cars and the rhythm of local musicians.

This was the first major fashion show in Cuba since sanctions eased, and Chanel fully embraced the cultural moment. Models walked on weathered cobblestones past buildings painted in faded pastels, blending high fashion with the raw, unpolished beauty of the Cuban streets.

Diesel in the Streets of Milan

Diesel took street style to its logical extreme in 2024. Instead of a traditional runway, they placed models inside giant transparent plastic eggs and scattered them across Milan like the world’s most fashionable Easter egg hunt. 

The public stumbled upon these human-sized capsules in piazzas, street corners, and urban nooks, getting an up-close look at the collection. It was democratic, bizarre and brilliantly guerrilla. Fashion came to the people, literally, this time.
