It Was an Asian Sweep at the 2025 VMAs with a Thai Face in the Winners Circle

September 8, 2025, New York, the MTV Video Music Awards celebrate global music with K-pop roaring as loud, if not louder, than anyone else.

MTV’s Video Music Awards celebrate the biggest names in music every year. This year the spotlight is on Asia. Multiple wins across categories show K-pop’s lasting mark on the global stage and the rich diversity of Asian talent shaping it, including our Thai pride Lisa.

These are the wins that make us beam with pride.

Lalisa Manobal “Lisa”

BLACKPINK’s Lisa teamed up with Doja Cat and RAYE to win Best K-Pop for Born Again. In the category, another BLACKPINK member, Jennie, was in the nominees with her song Like Jennie

It’s Lisa’s third win for this category, matching BTS for the most Best K-Pop awards since 2019. On top of this, every year she’s been nominated, Lisa never goes without the win.

Roseanne Chae-young Park “Rosé”

BLACKPINK’s Rosé made history as the first K-pop artist to win Song of the Year at the VMAs. Her solo hit APT with Bruno Mars took the crown. Onstage, Rosé dedicated the win to her 16-year-old self, turning the trophy into more than a prize. It is proof of years of grit, dreams and worldwide impact.

Rosé also has the most nominations this year, with eight in total, including Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects for APT, and Best K-pop for her solo track Toxic Till the End.
