Thailand’s Favourite Restaurants, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), introduces “Culinary Gems of Thailand”, a new six-part series that ventures into the daily lives of some of Thailand’s most acclaimed chefs as they prepare food for their guests, from market to table.
In this episode, Natalie and Nigel visit Taan, a fine-dining Thai restaurant you can find on the 25th floor of the Siam@Siam Hotel in Bangkok. Although the view of Bangkok city is brilliant, Taan’s nine-course seasonal set menu does not fail to shine through. Helming the kitchen, chef Thep explains to Natalie and Nigel his French culinary background and how it infuses into his Thai menu. These skills are seen in the kitchen as the chef and his team elegantly handle a variety of Thai recipes with French techniques.
