Founded in 2018, Archive026 is the baby of a Thai designer with over 10 years of expertise in the industry. Known for bold details and strong appeal, every piece from Archive026 always has a statement to proclaim, and the latest collection is no exception. With ‘A Journey To Space Episode 01 2022’, creative director Sorarak Tikaphanya draws direct inspiration from Paul Poiret, a French couturier who broke conventional garment-making traditions in the 1910s and 1920s by designing loose-fitting garments. Another influence palpable in the new ready-to-wear collection is commercial space travel, as we are living in an era where this is a possibility, rather than science fiction.

Fusing the signature of an unconventional designer from the past and the near future of zooming past celestial bodies, the outfits in this collection are nothing short of innovative. Sorarak is not afraid of experiementing with conflicting forms and functions, embellishing hand-crafted details and creating silhouettes that are loose-fitting but very structural at the same time. The idea of blurring the lines between the binary is also presented, with garments embodying both masculinity and femininity. Complimenting the playful silhouettes is a colour palette that consists of metallics, black and white, and pops of colour here and there.
