President, FCCT

Industry : The Arts

With more than 10 years of experience as a journalist, broadcaster,
and reporter, Panu Wongcha-um knows too well the importance
of seeking change through access to honest information. Upon
completing his master’s degree at the National University of
Singapore, Panu went on to work for the Thai broadcasting
company, MCOT, where he provided both Thai and English news
coverage. Nothing is off limits for Panu, who’s travelled to the most
remote and dangerous terrains to ensure every side has been
reported; whether that be during his time in Myanmar covering
the events of the recent coup, to youth-led protests in Thailand.
He currently splits his time fulfilling his role as the president of
The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand and the Senior
Correspondent of Reuters.
