Industry : The Arts

Founder of 2050 Productions, Pailin Wedel has made a name within
the film industry in a short amount of time. Following graduation
from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Pailin developed
an interest in all things film and journalism. Working for The News &
Observer (USA), she taught herself the art of video production and
went on to film documentaries for National Geographic Channel
and The New York Times. In 2018, Pailin debuted her documentary
Hope Frozen, her first full-length documentary featuring the story
of a Thai family seeking to cryogenically preserve their deceased
daughter. The documentary became one of the first Thai Netflix
Original Documentaries which has won several awards including
the International Emmy 2021 for Best Documentary. She hopes her
works can become a source for generating healthy conversation
while bringing to light controversial issues in need of attention.
