Truly multi-dimensional, Matas is an entrepreneur as well as a theatre and film actor. Passionate about innovation and the whole creative process, he has been working on several acceleration and incubation programmes and is co-founder of two startup companies. Gaorai is an agri-tech platform that helps improve land productivity by utilising the latest UAV, Robotics, Data and farm management tools. Despite the pandemic he has been able to build a successful team for Gaorai, co-produced a feature film and also a couple of theatre productions, and together with KX Knowledge Exchange, he helped to manage a Techbite incubation programme which raised almost 40 million baht for early stage entrepreneurs. Despite not having worked in the agriculture field before, he realised that the war in Ukraine, climate change, the growing population, rapid urbanisation and disrupted food supply chains are urgent challenges to agriculture that could be overcome by new technology, education and entrepreneurship. He is testing subscription farming, where he takes care of farm crops with the latest tech and data until harvest time. His vision for the future is full remote farming. He relaxes by reading, running, playing tennis, Muay Thai, listening to classic rock or watching anything featuring Matthew McConaughey.
