Kridtat, or Mac, became a household name when his drone helped to pinpoint the valve to cut off the chemical leak that was the cause of the massive fire in Bangkok’s eastern suburbs in August 2020. A former actor and model, his interest in flight technology was perhaps planted by his father, a former director of the Military Information Technology Centre. Mac had always been keen in robotics and completed his studies from the Institute of Field Robotics, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. He launched a start-up, Novy Drone, for the use of drone technology for smart farming purposes—imagery, land and pest surveys, as well as spraying fertilisers and pesticides. He plans to use robotics technology to help invalids and the elderly. Not content to throw away his childhood dreams of becoming a pilot, he has now embarked on a flying course at RTAF 604 Civilian Training Division.
