Kissada “Ohm” Kamyoung

Film Producer, At A Time Pictures

Industry : The Arts

After more than a decade as a university lecturer, Kissada “Ohm” Kamyoung made the kind of career change that leaves little room for half measures. He stepped away from academia and began again as an independent film producer, carrying his background in literary studies into an industry with very different practical demands.
Training at the Busan Asian Film School helped bridge the gap. Following his work on the 2023 short The Physical Realm, Kissada took on the formidable coordination behind 9 Temples to Heaven (2026), an eight-nation feature made in close collaboration with director Sompot “Boat” Chidgasornpongse. The film debuted at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight before taking top honours at Shanghai’s Golden Goblet Awards.

Kissada regards producing as both protective and connective: safeguarding a director’s creative intentions while establishing the trust required among international partners. It is a role in which his academic habits – curiosity, analysis and communication – have found an unexpected second life.

He also remains invested in Thailand’s emerging filmmakers, mentoring at PURIN Short Film Camp and managing the Bangkok Experimental Film Festival. His trajectory from lecturer to internationally active producer is unusual, but the thread is consistent: an interest in ideas, storytelling and creating the conditions in which ambitious work can reach an audience.
