Prapavadee Sophonpanich brings Thai art onto the global stage and connects Southeast Asia\u2019s collectors and artists with the world of Christie\u2019s.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Art has always travelled across borders, yet not every region has moved with equal visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a time when artists from Southeast Asia were barely seen on the global stage. Thai artists rarely appeared in major auction rooms or international collecting circles, apart from a handful of recognised names. Outside the region, understanding of Southeast Asian art remained limited, often eclipsed by more established markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against this backdrop stands Christie\u2019s. Founded in 1766, the auction house has long held a central role in the global art and luxury sphere. Each year it presents hundreds of sales across more than 80 categories, from fine art and rare objects to private transactions and online auctions, with prices that range from a few hundred dollars to works valued at over US$100 million (approximately THB 3.5 billion). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
