The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has launched cooling centres to help you stay safe from heat stroke during the hottest part of the year.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bangkok is steadily marching towards Songkran Festival, and one thing everyone can\u2019t stop talking about is the intense heat already making itself felt across the city. It\u2019s the perfect moment to soak up the sun, though for some, it feels like the scorching weather has arrived a bit too early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooling Centres Across the City<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, fear no more: the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has launched the new \u2018cooling centres,\u2019 fully equipped with air conditioning, plenty of seating, drinking water and medical supplies to help keep heat stroke at bay.<\/p>\n\n\n

More than 300 cooling centres are now up and running across Bangkok, spanning schools (over the school break), vocational training centres, recreation centres, public health facilities, and every one of the city\u2019s 50 district offices.<\/p>\n\n\n

But if parks are more your speed, the BMA has also set up 178 \u2018cooling spots\u2019 in public parks, including its own \u201815-minute pocket gardens\u2019 \u2013 an initiative designed to keep green space within easy walking distance.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are 2,800 free water refill stations around Bangkok, so you can top up your bottle anytime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BMA notes that 10am-3pm is the hottest part of the day, and the primary hours for using the cooling rooms, so be sure to stay hydrated and get away from the sun during those hours! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
