As Thailand headed to the polls yesterday in its bid to choose a new prime minister, the civic atmosphere took on a livelier tone as Thai celebrities drew cheers, smiles and selfies, lifting the mood beyond its usual seriousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These stars didn\u2019t just show up for photo ops during the general election. Many made it clear they were politically aware and socially engaged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By moving past showbiz and into real-world issues, they signalled that politics is no longer off-limits in the entertainment world, helping shape political awareness and get people talking about what\u2019s happening around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
