Nestled in the historic area of Charoen Krung sits a petite but eye-catching eatery, Charmgang Curry House. This retro-Chinese Thai curry joint is the brainchild of Geravich “Mew’’ Mesaengnilverakul, Aruss “Jai” Lerlerstkull and Atcharaporn “Aew” Kiatthanawat. They were all part of the kitchen team at Nahm, mentored by David Thompson, before regrouping to establish Charmgang. The group’s shared love of cooking has been ever-present, and each chef possesses a different culinary skill set. With Mew’s art of cooking with fire, Jai’s passion and taste for curries, and Aew’s penchant for the spices, the trio brings together their combined expertise to create a gastronomic and daring experience unique to Charmgang, representing a new generation of Thai food while preserving the art, flavours, and history of its roots.
